Most Tulsa area highways are clear or just wet as are neighborhood streets Thursday.

The city of Tulsa reports its crews were out overnight clearing ice and applying sand and salt.  Officials says street crews being used to clear and sand roads and highways are being switched to pothole repair work.

Police have responded to several crashes Thursday morning, including one on 36th Street North between Sheridan and Yale.

Tulsa Police say a van and a pickup truck struck each other sending the van off the road into a nearby ditch.

Officials say drivers advise extra caution should be taken on bridges, some of which are still slick in spots.

The city of Broken Arrow says from 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to 7:30 a.m. Thursday, street workers used 336 tons of sand and 96 tons of salt to treat arterial and secondary roads in their community.

They add crews will to be out Thursday morning, but anticipate the sun and warmer weather will melt much of the ice.
