Tulsa will soon be in the national spotlight. The cable channel C-SPAN will spend a week diving into Tulsa's unique history and literary life.
From Tulsa's Route 66 beginnings to Art Deco architecture, as well as a thriving literary scene like Book Smart Tulsa, producers will document what makes Tulsa a stand-out city.
They held a news conference Monday at City Hall to announce the segments. Author Clifton Taulbert was keynote speaker at the event.
"A lot goes into choosing which city that we profile," said Ashley Hill, C-SPAN Cities Tour.
"One of the things being we look for cities that have that rich history and also that unique literary scene and there's no lack of that."
C-SPAN's special look at Tulsa will air the weekend of April 4th and 5th.March 9th, 2015
