Tulsa River Parks To Reopen Old Turkey Mountain Parking Lot

Good news for people who frequent Tulsa's Turkey Mountain Park.

The River Parks Authority is preparing to reopen the old parking lot. It's building a new access road off of 61st to the old lot. 

Tonja Carrigg, community relations director for River Parks, said the lot was closed several years ago after the construction of the new lot at 68th and Elwood. She said the new lot will still be the primary parking area, but the authority hopes the old lot will keep users from parking on 61st Street.

Carrigg said the old lot should be open in a week or two and should hold about 50 vehicles.
