An earthquake shook up residents near Perry, Okla., in Noble County, early Saturday morning.

The 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 5:08 a.m.

Its epicenter was located 11 miles east northeast of Perry, 17 miles north of Stillwater, and 24 miles south of Ponca City. Its depth was just over three miles.

Usually damage is likely with quakes at a magnitude of the size but, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
