Police: Body Found After Bethany House Fire

A body was found inside a home that caught on fire in Bethany, Oklahoma, early Monday morning.

A body was found inside a home that caught on fire in Bethany, Oklahoma, early Monday morning.

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) were seen discussing the case with Bethany Police. Around 12:30 a.m., authorities received a 911 call of a house fire in the 6700 block of N.W. 24th Street near College Avenue.

The first to arrive on scene was a Bethany police officer. Smoke was pouring out of the home and he was unable to get inside because of the smoke.

Less than a minute later, firefighters showed up. They went in, knocked out the fire, and that's when they discovered a body on the floor inside the home.

Police are not releasing the age or gender of the victim. They are investigating how the fire started and how the person found inside died.

Police are working to obtain a search warrant to go inside the home to begin processing the scene and investigating.
