Oklahoma City police arrested a man who is accused of kidnapping a woman and raping her on Friday, March 20.

According to police, at about 12:44 a.m., officers responded to the report of a possible rape in progress at a motel in the area of S.W. 29th Street and Independence Avenue. The victim's roommate called police after receiving text messages from the victim, saying that a man was trying to rape and murder her.

The victim's roommate said she used an i-Phone locator program and tracked the victim's phone to the area of S.W. 29th and Independence. Officers responded to the area and located the Bel Aire Motel. As they were walking to the front office, they saw a car matching the descriptions of the victim's vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers approached that car and spoke with a woman inside, who was crying hysterically. Police said the woman kept on saying, “He's going to hurt me.”

Several other officers then saw a man, later identified as the suspect, 46-year-old Tomy Mayo Pulliam, leaving a hotel room. They attempted to speak with Pulliam, but he took off running. Officers were able to catch up with him and take him into custody.

The victim told police she was sitting in her car at a 7-Eleven parking lot at S.W. 29th and S. May, when Pulliam knocked on the window. The victim said Pulliam asked for a ride, but she refused.

However, Pulliam reportedly opened the passenger door and got into the victim's vehicle. The victim said she was scared, so she agreed to give Pulliam a ride to his motel room.

When they arrived at the motel, Pulliam reportedly told the victim to go inside his room. The victim refused, but Pulliam said, “If you don't come inside, I will make you regret it,” the police report stated.

The victim went into Pulliam's room. Once inside, the victim said Pulliam forced a pill down her throat. Pulliam then choked and raped the victim, even though the victim told him multiple times to stop, according to police.

The victim was able to text her roommate when she went into the bathroom. But Pulliam walked in and broke her phone. Pulliam reportedly told the victim that he would hurt her if she told anyone.

Pulliam, police said, agreed to let the victim go if she would leave immediately without talking to police.

Pulliam was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of kidnapping and rape.
