Community Begins New Blueprint For North Tulsa, Kendall-Whittier
TULSA, Oklahoma - Monday night, the community began drawing a new blueprint for north Tulsa.
The Tulsa Development Authority's partnered with an urban planning firm. They're creating long-range goals for both north Tulsa and Kendall-Whittier.
Neighborhood residents and business owners listed their biggest priorities over the next ten years.
They want more sidewalks and infrastructure and run-down homes dealt with.
Planners said if Tulsa's going to continue growing, north Tulsa will have to play a role.
"South Tulsa's touching Bixby at this point, east Tulsa has facilitated development as well. As one of our commissioners says, the final two frontiers are north and west Tulsa as far as opportunity to continue to grow," said OC Walker, Tulsa Development Authority.
