A donut shop off U.S. Highway 412 at 177th West Avenue was hit by the tornado and cars were flipped over on the expressway as the storm moved out of Pawnee County and into Tulsa County near Sand Springs. The Westport Marina was hit hard by storm damage, with the roof collapsing on boats housed in the facility.


Hail busted windows in homes in eastern Pawnee County, according to our viewers. Thunderstorms dropped large hail on the communities of Yale and Jennings earlier in the afternoon.


Just before 6 p.m., 80-90 mph winds were hitting downtown Tulsa. Roofing materials were in the streets near First and Greenwood.


Right at the Hard Rock Casino near Catoosa, we spotted a possible rain-wrapped lowering about 6:16 p.m.. Debris was seen spinning around and being thrown, and roofing materials were hurling into the air, according to storm chaser Mark Folta.


Tulsa County Maj. Shannon Clark says there are crews at 14600 W. 61st St. at Riverport where a mobile home park has been largely destroyed. They are working with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to do rescues.


Another mobile home park, near 145th West Avenue and Highway 51, was destroyed. One fatality was confirmed around 7:30 p.m.


They also have crews at 18100 W. Kiowa, and are teaming with OHP to search for anyone injured.


At one time in the evening about 2,500 people in Osage County were without power, and 31,000 people in Tulsa County were without power. In Wagoner, 2,200 people were without power and more than 200 people were without in Rogers County.


Sand Springs Public Schools and Tulsa Public Schools have been canceled for Thursday due to widespread damage and electrical outages.




The National Weather Service issued Tornado Warnings for several counties in northwestern Oklahoma throughout the day from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.


The NWS also issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Haskell, McIntosh and Muskogee counties until 9:45 p.m.
