TULSA, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Philip Montgomery has appointed Ravi Savitala to a full-time position as Assistant Director of Football Operations and Recruiting, it was announced today.

Savitala has spent the past two years in the football department as football operations and recruiting assistant volunteer. Since 2005, Savitala has also served on the convention staff during the American Football Coaches Association, supporting all areas dealing with the execution of the national convention.

Prior to joining the Tulsa football staff in 2013, Savitala served internships at the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office and at the Boesche Legal Clinic, and earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 2011.

Previously, Savitala worked for various professional sports organizations over a period three years, serving as a staff writer for The Oakland Raiders (NFL) official website, Oakland Raiders PR and legal intern, clubhouse manager for the San Francisco Giants (MLB) Hi-A farm team, senior ticket account executive for the AFL's Austin Wranglers and player personnel intern for the San Jose SaberCats (AFL).

Savitala earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California Santa Cruz in Legal Studies and History in 2000, and his master's degree in 2004 from Baylor University in Education.
