Sophomore third baseman Maggie Withee drove in three runs, while junior second baseman Kaitlin Allen and freshman shortstop Shelby Estocado each tallied three hits to lead the Tulsa softball team to a 10-2 (6 inn.) win over Arkansas Tuesday evening at the Collins Family Softball Complex.

The trio was part of five Golden Hurricane players to record at least two hits in the game, including two each by Withee, junior catcher Catherine Horner and center fielder Maddie Withee. Allen, Maddie Withee and senior right fielder Erica Sampson also scored two runs apiece.

Freshman Emily Watson (6-2) struck out six batters and allowed one earned run in 5.1 innings to earn the victory for the Hurricane (22-12). Senior Bailey Erwin tossed the final 0.2 innings in relief. Arkansas starter Haley Meinen (1-3) allowed five runs on six hits in 1.2 innings to take the loss for the Razorbacks (14-21).

Arkansas scored a run in each of the first two innings, but Tulsa responded with a run in the first and four in the bottom of the second inning to take a 5-2 lead. TU added two runs in the fourth and the final two runs in the sixth to end the game.

The Golden Hurricane plays host to No. 18 UCF Friday and Saturday in a three-game American Athletic Conference series at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The teams play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Friday and a single game at noon Saturday.
