Cleveland County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people on Tuesday in connection to a weekend gathering that led to the death of a Lexington teenager.

According to the Sheriff's office, detectives apprehended Tonya Lynne Moss, 32, and Justin David Moore, 34, Tuesday in Lexington. Both were arrested in relation to the party that resulted in 15-year-old Nicholas Faught's death.

A preliminary investigation shows that Moss and Moore allowed numerous juveniles to drink alcohol at their Lexington home on Saturday, March 28. In Oklahoma, a person who permits invitees under 21 to possess or consume alcohol or controlled dangerous substances and it results in great bodily harm or death can be charged with a felony crime, according to the Sheriff's office.

About 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, the Sheriff's office received a call about a 15-year-old male who was unresponsive at 16650 Pottawatomie Road in Lexington. When deputies arrived, they determined that Faught was dead. Faught didn't live at the home.

The State Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy Monday. The report is pending. However, authorities said that a preliminary examination showed there were no injuries that were a result of foul play.

Investigators continue to gather more details and interview witnesses. The Lexington Police Department assisted Cleveland County deputies with the arrests.

Moss was booked in the Cleveland County Detention Center at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday on complaints of permit invitee under 21 to poss/consume alcohol resulting in death, child neglect, contributing to delinquency of minors and carry firearms after conviction/during probation.

Moore was booked in jail at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday on complaints of permit invitee under 21 to poss/consume alcohol resulting in death, contributing to the delinquency of minors, carrying a loaded firearm and transporting loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.

Formal charges against Moss and Moore are pending in Cleveland County District Court.

Sheriff Joe Lester said adults should never allow anyone under 21 to consume alcohol for any reason.

“It's a tragedy that a 15-year-old boy lost his life because two individuals failed to look out for the safety and well-being of him and the group of teenagers who were at their home over the weekend,” Lester said. “Both people will be held accountable and have to deal with the tough consequences of their actions. Any parent who is considering allowing children to use alcohol or drugs should remember what happened to Nicholas Faught and make the right decision.”
