A large section of downtown Sapulpa was without power for about an hour Wednesday morning.

Just before 6 a.m. police reported an area from the Turner Turnpike to Taft Street and Main Street to Highway 66 was without power.

Police set up temporary stop signs at a several major intersections and officers were out at others directing traffic.

OG&E initially showed 2,600 customers without power in Sapulpa, but within thirty minutes that number had been reduced to just over 1,600 and just before 7 a.m. all power had been restored.

We don't have any official word yet on what caused the outage.
