Chance Of Severe Thunderstorms Continues This Weekend

Severe storms are possible Saturday evening across eastern Oklahoma.

Around 10 p.m. on Saturday, the storms stretched from Pawnee County all the way down to south of the Red River. By 11:30 p.m., Tulsa was getting heavy rain, but nothing severe was expected as it moved through the city -- just a chance of small hail in pockets, lightning and a lot of rumbling thunder.

The storm is expected to move east across the state and could produce up to 50 mph wind gusts, News On 6 WARN Team meteorologist Mike Grogan said.

The NWS says if severe storms develop, they could carry up to half-dollar size hail.

On Sunday, a cool front moves through along with another opportunity for storms. There's just a 40 percent chance at this time, but the storms that develop may be severe, according to News On 6 meteorologist Stacia Knight.
