TULSA, Oklahoma -

The City of Tulsa has announced plans for a special storm debris pickup in west Tulsa areas affected by the March 25 severe storms. Residents included in the pickup area should have their yard debris at the curb by Friday, April 24 for pickup the next day.

If you live between 65th West Avenue to 25th West Avenue, Edison and the Arkansas River, you are in the collection area, a news release states.

The city also said if you live in that area and already paid for bulk waste pickup between the dates of March 26, 2015, and April 24, 2015, you will be credited that amount on your next utility bill.

The city had previously announced there would be no special pickup.

Crews will begin collection at 6 a.m. Saturday, April 25. Storm debris should be within four feet of the curb and not placed near fire hydrants, cable boxes, overhead lines or fences.

TARE, the Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy, has authorized up to $360,000 for the operation, according to the news release.

Residents can also dispose of their yard waste for free at the city's mulch facility, 2100 North 145th East Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for city holidays. You need a current driver's license or Tulsa utility bill to be able to use the site. Free mulch and firewood are also available there.
