One Dead After Car Crashes Through Fence At National Weather Center

One person was killed after a fiery crash in a parking lot at the National Weather Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma on Thursday.

Crews were called out to the scene located at 720 David L. Boren Blvd. on the south side of the OU campus, just north of Highway 9.

Authorities say the vehicle rammed through a gate at the National Weather Center before catching fire in a parking lot. OU campus police have confirmed with News 9 that the crash is a suspected suicide. The driver of the car has not yet been identified.

OUPD and the Norman Fire Department is investigating.
