For OU and OSU it was a tough day at Southern Hills in day two of the Big 12 tournament, as Texas continues to lead.

Individually, Michael Gellerman of OU is tied for sixth. He's in a good position, but you wouldn't know it after the way he talked about his round on Tuesday. "I guess, I needed to just miss the green to get a birdie today. I don't know; it was a rough. It was a long day," said Gellerman.

Gellerman says he's a fighter and that his family grew up on a short nine-hole course. His father said he's mostly self-taught. "It's always kept a chip on my shoulder. I didn't grow up with a lot, of like this, like a lot of guys did around here, so it's always driven me and taught [me] how to get the ball in the hole."

Motivation aside, solving Southern Hills is a daunting task, especially in one area. "The greens are really, really, fast and the pins are in really hard spots," Gellerman explained.

OSU's number one Jordan Niebrugge was one of eight players to shoot even par or better. "It was tough today,” said Niebrugge. “I mean, there wasn't as much wind as yesterday, but it was playing really long. Even the holes down wind, you didn't get any roll."

With one round left, the individual title is still up for grabs. "You never know what can happen,” Niebrugge explained. “You just never know, especially with the way the wind is. I haven't looked it up yet. I just got to play my own game and not worry about that."
