Thursday, the NBA team announced Billy Donovan would be team's new leader for the next five years. Donovan who has been the main target for Thunder General Manager Sam Presti, replaced Scott Brooks who the Thunder released last week.

Donovan says he's thrilled to be with the Thunder and in the NBA.  Concerning Scott Brooks, Donovan said Brooks did an outstanding job when he was here and hopes to build on that success.

Donovan said one of his important goals is getting people who fit the Thunder culture as well as people who are skilled.

Donovan becomes the third head coach for the OKC Thunder after spending the past 19 years at the University of Florida. He led the Gators to two National Championships and four trips to the Final Four while amassing a record of 467-186.
