Rescues Continue, Cleanup Begins Following Central OK Severe Storms

Multiple rescues continue and the cleanup process begins across Oklahoma City metro Thursday morning, after severe thunderstorms swept across the area on Wednesday.

News 9's Justin Dougherty is at Interstate 35 near S.E. 44th Street in Oklahoma City where nearly two dozen people were hurt after a tornado hit a hotel and nearby mobile home park. Five of those hurt are in critical condition. 

Emergency crews were able to rescue one person overnight who was trapped under a mobile home. 

Reporter Heather Hope is on the scene of a water rescue near N.E. 63rd Street near Midwest Boulevard. 

Rachel Calderon is in Bridge Creek where damage cleanup will continue Thursday morning. The area was hit hard by a large tornado on Thursday. Authorities said no serious injuries were reported from Wednesday's tornado.

Several schools are closed Thursday, including, Tuttle schools, Bridge Creek schools, Newcastle schools and Tinker Elementary School.
