Two Oklahoma Robbery Suspects Arrested

The Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes task force arrested two armed robbery suspects Friday afternoon.

Alexander Gist was arrested on complaints of first-degree burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a firearm.

According to reports, on April 24, 2015, Gist and Mantell Benson are accused of a home invasion in the 4100 block of South 102nd East Avenue.

The reports says the two men forced their way into a 61-year-old man's home, pistol whipped him and forced him to lie down while they stole his TV, wallet, keys, prescription medication and more.

Gist and Benson loaded the stole property into a vehicle that a witness described as a white 1996 Dodge Ram pickup before driving away, officers said.

Later the same day officers were located the suspect vehicle and arrested Benson. Gist was arrested May 8 and is being held on a $105,000 bond.

The task force also arrested Curtis Barnes Jr.

Reports say he had warrants for failing to appear for possession of a controlled drug, obstructing an officer and failing to stop a sign.

According to the reports Barnes also served time for attempted robbery out of Muskogee County and also had a warrant for failure to pay out of Muskogee.
