In Tulsa, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed westbound Interstate 44 at Highway 75 due to water over the roadway as over an inch of rain fell in a short period of time.

News On 6 Chief Meteorologist, Travis Meyer, said over three inches of water fell within an hour's time near Okemah. The emergency management director reported flash flooding and several roads were closed.

The rain also ended the opening night of Broken Arrow's Rooster Days as the threat of severe weather forced festival organizers to cancel the day early. However, the BA Chamber said it will reopen at 10:00 Saturday morning.

Several wrecks were reported and according to PSO over 1,200 customers were without power – it's not confirmed if all those were related to weather.

High winds blew in with the storms, some places saw over 60 mile-per-hour winds. Sirens sounded in Henryetta and people in the Wetumka area were told to take precautions.

The weekend doesn't look like it's going to provide any relief with a 70 percent chance of rain and storms Saturday and Sunday.
