Police said two Krispy Kreme employees suffered injuries when a car slammed into the Tulsa store on 71st Street near U.S. Highway 169 Thursday morning.

Officers said the driver of a Mercury Grand Marquis headed east on 71st Street ran a red light and was clipped by another car, causing her to lose control, go up an embankment and into the store.  The other car which had the green light was pulling out the Lowe's parking lot.

EMSA took one employee to the hospital, another employee was treated at the scene for minor injuries by paramedics.

The Krispy Kreme was closed after the crash because of possible structural damage to the building.

Police said the driver, who was not injured was cited for running a red light.
