Two earthquakes shook up residents near Luther, in Lincoln County Saturday morning.
The first, was a 3.1 magnitude earthquake that struck at approximately 7:03 a.m. Its epicenter was located eight miles east southeast of Luther, 14 miles east northeast of Choctaw, and 27 miles east northeast of Oklahoma City. It was about four miles deep.
The second, was a 3.0 magnitude earthquake that struck at approximately 9:25 a.m. Its epicenter was located in the same area as the first earthquake at around 3 miles deep.
There have been no damages or injuries reported.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
