Two men were killed in an Atoka County crash involving alcohol Saturday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. It happened on a county road three miles west of Caney in Atoka just after 11 p.m.

Troopers say Marcelino R. Cruz of Caney was driving westbound when his car went off the roadway to the right and hit another vehicle parked in someone's driveway.

Cruz, 59, died at the scene of massive injuries, according to a collision report. His passenger, 35-year-old Martin C. Diaz of Caney, was pronounced dead at the Atoka Memorial Hospital emergency room.

The report states Cruz smelled of alcohol, and the cause of the deadly crash is listed as driving under the influence of alcohol.
