Police: Friend Shoots Owasso Man In Head

An Owasso man is in serious condition after a friend reportedly accidentally shot him in the head. It happened shortly before 1:30 Monday morning at the Brookwood Apartments near 86th Street North and Highway 169.

Deputy Chief of Police Jason B. Woodruff said the 28-year-old victim was taken to a Tulsa hospital.

The man who fired the gun is cooperating with police and no arrests have been made. Woodruff said the 26-year-old man told them he accidentally discharged a .22-caliber rifle, hitting his friend in the head.

"Once the investigation is completed, this case will be submitted to the Tulsa County District Attorney to determine if criminal charges are warranted against the alleged shooter," he said.
