An Oklahoma oil tycoon tried to get several university scientists fired, according to a new report from Bloomberg Business.
We're talking about Harold Hamm, the billionaire CEO of Continental Resources. Bloomberg Business posted a picture of an email, detailing a conversation last year between Hamm and Larry Grillot, the Dean of the OU's College of Earth and Energy.

According to the email, Hamm asked that select members of the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS) staff be fired for reporting a link between oil and gas drilling and the spike in Oklahoma earthquakes.
The OGS is housed at OU.
Despite Hamm's millions of dollars in donations to the university, no one was fired, and the research is still ongoing.
Hamm, the dean, and everyone else involved in the email conversation denied that Hamm asked for anyone to be fired.
OU President David Boren released a statement saying he was unaware of the meeting, and the dean never passed along any requests from Hamm to "remove a member of the OGS staff."
