NCAA Baseball Tournament: Stillwater Regional Matchups

In less than a day, the first pitch will be thrown at the Stillwater Regional at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

With three of the four teams from within three hours of Stillwater, the stage is set for a great atmosphere and competitive games this weekend. "I see a number one, and three number twos in this regional. This is as good as regional you're going to find in terms of balance," said Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn.

Oral Roberts head coach Ryan Folmar knows the competition will be tough, but is confident with his team's current position. "I don't know how many four seeds have 39 wins, 15 of them in a row, like the St. John's team,” he said. “We feel very comfortable where we're at, and obviously Arkansas and Oklahoma State have had outstanding years as well."

Oklahoma State has the No. 1 seed, and will send Jon Perrin to the mound in its opener against St. John's. "We feel like he's rested appropriately,” said OSU head coach Josh Holliday. He's pitched game one about 95 percent of the time since last year, so we feel like we're putting a very good performer and a very good pitcher in position to pitch an important game one for us."

Arkansas and ORU will square off in the early game.

Van Horn says the Golden Eagles' experience is a strength. "You're talking 22 and 23-year-old men that are not intimidated,” he explained. “They could care less what it says across the front of our jersey."

That experience comes from having a senior heavy lineup. "We have a core group of seniors that anchor the middle of the lineup, and we have plenty of guys on the mound with a lot of experience, [so] this is going to be another weekend for us," said Folmar.

The games will be played in a double elimination format. Single game tickets are still available, and go on sale 90 minutes before each game.
