Mobile homes near Claremore are in danger of flooding at Lone Elm Mobile Home Park, just west of Claremore, where flash flooding has threatened some homes that back up to a creek.

The creek has gone down quite a bit this evening.

A few hours ago, the water was up over the banks, and the people who live here were scared it would come inside.

Floodwaters already have damaged their home. A few days ago, the creek was about 10 feet higher. Water covered their yards and decks and was 3-foot high on their house. It took out pipes underneath and a sink hole has even started to form right behind the home.

As the rain continues to fall, the homeowner is worried about what could happen next.

“It's very scary especially late at night, it might slip the foundation,” Greg Cantrell said.

Friday afternoon, a few houses had to be evacuated on Archer Court, where the Claremore firefighter was killed a few days ago.

The road was closed, and there was about 10 inches of water on top of it. Fortunately, it started to recede before getting inside homes.

Those neighbors like these are worried about rain in the days ahead.
