Sand Springs and Tulsa Police recovered all four Chevy Camaros stolen from an Enid dealership early Wednesday morning.

Enid Police reported the theft and an OHP trooper began chasing at least two of the Camaros eastbound on the Cimarron Turnpike in Pawnee County. The OHP requested help from Sand Springs Police at about 6:10 a.m. but troopers and police lost sight of them.

A Sand Springs officer involved in the pursuit was headed back to town when he saw a Camaro with its hazard lights on parked on the side of the road on Charles Page Boulevard near 81st West Avenue.

He and other officers arrested the two people inside, identified as Courtney Rushing, 22, and a juvenile female.

Northcutt Chevrolet in Enid confirmed thieves stole four Camaros from the lot at about 4:30 Wednesday morning.

Northcutt's general manager, Jeff Turnbow, says police used OnStar to find the other three Camaros. He said OnStar began tracking the cars and once they were parked and the engines shut off, remotely disabled them and alerted Tulsa Police to their location.

Tulsa Police recovered them at about 8 a.m.; one in the 1600 block of North Elwood and the others in the 1600 block of North Cheyenne. They did not make any arrests.

Turnbow said the thieves cut a fence and then somehow got the keys to the Camaros, but he doesn't know how. "We're still trying to figure that out," he said.

Turnbow believes they might have been part of a ring that targets specific vehicles.

He had high praise for OnStar. "People don't realize that OnStar is a great tool."
