A series of earthquakes shook many Oklahoma residents awake late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first earthquake, a 3.6 magnitude, was recorded at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, eight miles northeast of Edmond and nine miles south of Guthrie.

At 12:18 a.m., a 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded nine miles northeast of Edmond, and nine miles south, southeast of Guthrie.

At 12:54 a.m. Friday, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded eight miles northeast of Edmond, and nine miles south, southeast of Guthrie.

At 1:19 a.m., a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded eight miles south, southeast of Guthrie, and nine miles northeast of Edmond.

At 2:48 a.m., a 3.0 magnitude earthquake shook seven miles south of Guthrie, and nine miles north, northeast of Edmond.

At 5:18 a.m., another 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded 12 miles south, southwest of Perry, 15 miles west of Stillwater, 17 miles north, northeast of Guthrie, and 32 miles north, northeast of Edmond.

At 5: 49 a.m. a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded eight miles north, northeast of Edmond, and eight miles south of Guthrie.

Many residents in the Edmond and Guthrie area reported feeling these earthquakes. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
