Authorities Warn Against Gun-Shaped Cell Phone Case

These days, cell phone cases come in just about every color, shape and design imaginable. But a new case is becoming popular and police said it's not a good idea.

Prosecutors and officers are urging people not to buy the case, calling them a death trap. A quick search online shows that several different sites are selling the case or similar ones.

In some pictures a New Jersey Police Department posted, it looks like a gun sticking out a back pocket, or if you're talking on it, it looks you have it pointed to your head.

Officers said they constantly face the unknown and sometimes they have only a split second to make a decision against a possible threat.

Although it's not illegal, officials said the cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea.

There is now an investigation into who is manufacturing the case in hopes of shutting it down.
