Determined to solve a cold case, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI), tries a new tactic – it’s never done before. This weekend – it opened a phone bank to hopefully find out who killed a Moore woman 34 years ago.

Every time the phone rings, hope of catching a killer increases.

“Anything, we will take anything and run on it,” said Jessica Brown, with OSBI. “All we need is a little bit of information - we can track down people very well.”

Brown believes opening up these lines of communication will bring agents one step closer to finding out who brutally stabbed Tracey Neilson inside her apartment in 1981.

“We know someone out there has information whether it's direct information or indirect information,” she said.

On Friday, OSBI released the second piece of crucial evidence in the case – a key chain Tracie had that looks similar to the one in this picture. It’s missing – believed to be taken by the killer as a souvenir.

Investigators also found a cable service log near the crime scene, time stamped 11:51 a.m. --- moments before her death.

“It could be that the killer is in prison, it could be the killer is dead at this point, we still want to resolve this case no matter what,” Brown said.

Since Friday, agents have been standing by 24/7 personally answering the phones as each tip comes in, so far, they’ve logged more than a dozen tips.

“We would like more but all we need is one, all we need is that right one so we're happy with what we have so far, but we want more,” she said.

Knowing even the smallest bit of information could fill the gaps to solve this case.

“The person who knows about this, who has information, even the person that did it, this has been wearing on them, this is a drain on this person and we want this person to come forward and make it right,” said Brown. “We need some peace, the family needs peace.”

The family has increased the reward to now $100,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information on Tracey's Neilson's death call the OSBI tip line at 1-800-522-8017 or through email at tips@osbi.ok.gov .
