BIXBY, Oklahoma -

Vandals damaged a Bixby bicycle shop, but loyal customers don’t want that to put the brakes on the business they love and turned a Tuesday night ride into something more.

A Truck slammed through the front glass of Bixby Bicycles a few days ago, caught the business on fire and caused a lot of damage.

They are making progress on the cleanup, and Tuesday night, the community showed their support for the business.

Bixby Bicycles may be boarded up, but that didn't stop dozens of cyclists, like Kat Cohen, from joining together outside of the shop.

"It was overwhelming. It really showed that people care about Bixby Bicycles and the family, and they showed the support that you want in the community. And it was so nice to see everybody come out and just show the love and support for Bixby," she said.

Together they took off for an evening ride as a way to let owner Buster Brown know they are here for him because he has always been there for them.

"It’s emotional because Buster does a wonderful job and he cares for each and everybody. And he takes care of everybody, and he does what he needs to do to make sure that everyone is comfortable with their bikes and having a good time," said Cohen. “The first time I came here they welcomed me with open arms. It was just an instant family."

Police are still investigating the vandalism but Brown believes it was intentional and is now offering a reward in hopes of finding who is responsible.

"The first go-round was…you know I thought maybe it might have been random, and frankly how I’m feeling is, it’s starting to…it’s personal,” he said.

Many questions remain, but one thing is for certain, this is a group of not only loyal cyclists but loyal friends.

“We are paying Buster back and saying thank you for everything he has done for us," said Cohen.
