Entire Chelsea Police Department Quits; Rogers County Covering Calls
CHELSEA, Oklahoma - Wednesday, all the officers at the Chelsea Police Department quit their jobs.
According to reports, officers learned of a plan to fire the chief, and instead of waiting to be fired, they quit.
This comes weeks after the assistant chief quit after he said there was a hostile work environment between the police department and city officials.
Back in May, one officer almost lost his job after pulling over a business owner and officers said that incident is what created the hostile work environment.
Until the city can hire new officers the Rogers County Sheriff's deputies will respond to any calls.
