Tulsa Police say the death of a Tulsa toddler in June is now classified as a murder. Charity Simmons had massive abusive injuries, according to police. The toddler was found when a 13-year-old cousin went door to door with the unresponsive child, trying to get help for her.

A neighbor called 911 and gave the 2-year-old girl CPR, but it was too late.

Charity's mother, Christina Renee Simmons, was arrested for child abuse later that day. The 31-year-old Simmons left the child in the care of the teenager, police say, who discovered the child was unresponsive and left the home in the 12600 block of East 27th Street looking for help.

Simmons, 31, told News On 6 as she was taken into custody that she didn't neglect her baby.

She then said: "You can turn the camera off now. I can get it on YouTube..."

Charity's two brothers, ages 4 and 5, were placed into protective custody the same day. Homicide Sergeant David Walker said the 2-year-old girl's death is Tulsa's 33rd murder of 2015.
