Stolen SUV Recovered In West Tulsa, Driver Still Sought

Officers are searching for the driver who crashed a stolen SUV into a ditch in west Tulsa overnight Monday.

Police said officers had stopped a Chevy Suburban at West 40th Street and South 32nd West Avenue for a DUI check just before 1 a.m.  The driver then attempted to drive off, hitting a concrete culvert in a ditch. He got out and ran away, leaving two juvenile passengers behind.  

The juveniles were placed into custody for curfew violations.

Police said the SUV turned out to be stolen.
