Sapulpa Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that heavily damaged a vacant home early Friday.

Just after midnight, the Sapulpa Fire Department was called to the home in the 6200 block of South 42nd West Avenue northeast of town.  Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the structure.

Fire officials say there was a lot of trash inside the home which made it challenging for firefighters to put out the fire.

An assistant fire chief said about four years ago, they were called to the same property for a suspicious vacant mobile home fire.
