Inspections To Cause Lane Closures On Tulsa Bridges Over Arkansas

Drivers can expect several lane closures this week on Tulsa's three bridges across the Arkansas River.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with the engineering firm Leidos  to inspect under the bridges using a snooper truck.

The schedule is as follows:

• Tuesday, August 4 - 21st Street bridge, with the westbound outside lane closed
• Wednesday, August 5 - 71st Street bridge, with the eastbound outside lane closed
• Friday, August 7 - 11th Street bridge, with the westbound outside lane closed

The work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather dependent.

Inspections underneath the bridges are conducted every two years (odd numbered years), and the surfaces of the bridges are inspected in the years alternating between the underside inspections (even numbered years).
