Thunder Experience Set To Hit Tulsa

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today that the team is bringing the Thunder experience to Tulsa later this month, as team mascot Rumble the Bison, the Thunder Girls, the Thunder Drummers and more will make stops in the area. The Tulsa visit is in advance of the annual Thunder preseason game at the BOK Center on Oct. 13 against the Dallas Mavericks.

A Thunder rally will kick off outside MidFirst Bank, located at 71st and Memorial, on Saturday, Aug. 29. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., fans can meet Rumble; watch performances from the Thunder Girls and Thunder Drummers; board the OG&E ThunderBolt, an interactive experience that includes a photo booth, trivia station and measure-ups; spin the prize wheel; and play games on the pop-a-shot and the sport court. This event is free and open to the public.

The experience will continue on Saturday with Thunder Night, presented by U.S. Cellular, at the Tulsa Drillers game. Prior to the game against the Springfield Cardinals, fans can take pictures with and get autographs from the Thunder Girls, watch the Thunder Drummers perform, enjoy the OG&E ThunderBolt and visit the Thunder merchandise trailer.

Gates at ONEOK Field will open at 6 p.m., and the first 1,500 fans will receive exclusive Thunder headphones, presented by U.S. Cellular. Rumble will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at 6:40 p.m. before the game starts at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available for the Drillers game through the team’s website, TulsaDrillers.com.

On Sunday, Aug. 30, Thunder entertainers will stop at the BOK Center for the Tulsa Shock game at 3:30 p.m. The Thunder Girls will sign autographs and take pictures prior to tipoff, and Rumble and the Thunder Drummers will provide in-game entertainment.

The Thunder will return to the BOK Center for a preseason game on Tuesday, Oct. 13, Oklahoma City’s seventh preseason appearance in Tulsa. Tickets are available now at BOKCenter.com.
