It’s time to get ready for back to school, and for many families that means a trip to the health department.
Vaccinations have become controversial in recent years for some parents, but health department workers like Ellen Niemitalo say they shouldn't be.
"They work, they've been around, they're well tested, the schedules are well-tested," she said.
The Tulsa Health Department gives 5,000 to 6,000 vaccines every August, which can mean long waits at some offices.
But, the newest facility at 56th Street North and Martin Luther King Boulevard, is also the least visited.
Niemitalo said it’s a good bet for parents who are short on time.
