The City of Tulsa held a grand opening for its newly-renovated Concourse A at Tulsa International Airport on Friday.

The concourse has new shops and restaurants, an expanded military lounge and a new business center.

It also has new charging stations for travelers.

The Folds of Honor organization helped the airport remodel the military lounge in honor of Corporal Jared Shoemaker. He was a Tulsa police officer who died in the line of duty in Iraq in 2006.

The renovation of the concourse cost $30.6 million and took more than 18 months to complete.

The redesign raised the concourse's ceiling and added a skylight to decrease energy consumption.
