The Christian Ministers Alliance and the South Tulsa Baptist Church are helping Tulsa kids get ready for the first day of class.

They have been working hard over the past few weeks to collect hundreds of new school supplies, and this year the Alliance will be able to help almost 1,500 families at over 60 Tulsa schools.

"We have a heart for our community as well as worldwide missions,” said Dave Bender with South Tulsa Baptist Church. “Our church family just goes to the stores and picks up extra school supplies as they are shopping for their own kids.”

The supplies will be handed out Saturday at a big back-to-school bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harvest Time Outreach Ministries at 2333 East 48 Street North.
