A judge has denied a bond request for the man and woman accused of shooting and killing two men in a Midwest City motel.

Johnny Grafton and his girlfriend, Daphne Mason, were both arraigned on Wednesday. They stand accused of the murders of Sapulpa Police Lt. Trey Pritchard and Jeffrey Grafton, Johnny’s father.

During the arraignment, Grafton stood silent. Mason was visibly distressed and had tears streaming down her face, though she too did not speak.

According to court documents released on Tuesday, Mason told police she and Johnny stole some money from his dad and didn’t want to get in trouble, so they took his truck to MWC checked into the motel.

She said a short time later Jeffrey and Pritchard knocked on the door and were let in by her boyfriend. That is when Mason said Johnny and his father got into an argument, then a fight. Mason said Johnny eventually got his gun out and shot both men.

A search warrant released on Wednesday reveals that officers found two guns inside Jeffrey Grafton's stolen truck. One gun was loaded with five unspent rounds, and the other one had four spent rounds and two live rounds.

Grafton, 22, and Mason, 21, were taken into custody in Enid Monday morning. Enid Police arrested them after they were spotted sleeping outside a convenience store, according to Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes.

The case remains under investigation.
