Helicopter Crashes Near Ketchum
Grand River Dam Authority Police say a helicopter crashed near Ketchum Tuesday morning. The pilot is believed to be OK.
He told Grove Sun editor Kayla Hutson-Miller he thought the helicopter had a mechanical problem, possibly something with the gear box.
It happened about two miles north of Ketchum, according to Chief of Police Brian Edwards.
Video from Osage SkyNews 6 shows the helicopter on its side, badly damaged.
Authorities say the pilot was the only one on the aircraft, and he was able to catch a ride back to the South Grand Regional Airport. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the crash.
Edwards said the crash site is near 4490 and 370 Roads. Sources say the helicopter is a Robinson R44.
