RAMONA, Oklahoma - A school bus was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 75 near Ramona Thursday morning.

Troopers said the school bus had stopped on the southbound shoulder of the highway to pick up children. The bus had its stop sign out and a pickup had stopped behind it when an SUV hit the truck, they said. That impact caused the truck to hit another pickup.

The OHP said the driver of the SUV was pinned for 30 minutes and then flown by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition.  A person in one of the pickups was also injured and a Collinsville ambulance took that person to the hospital. Troopers said his injuries were not serious.

Troopers said none of the students on the Caney Valley school bus were injured. Because of all the debris in the area, the school district sent a second bus to take the students to school.

The crash about five miles south of Ramona shut down the southbound lanes for about 45 minutes, while emergency crews cleared the scene.
