SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma - Sand Springs is getting its first splash pad. Crews poured light blue concrete Thursday for the new splash pad at River City Park. River City Park is near the Case Community Center off Wekiwa Road north of the Arkansas River.

Bond money approved by voters and a $60,000 donation from the Sand Springs Rotary Club are paying for the project. It will be named the Sand Springs Rotary Super Splash and will have a vortex dumping bucket - one of only three in the state with that feature.

Another splash pad is being built near West 44th and Walnut Creek Drive.
