A Park Hill man was flown to a hospital after being hit by a car in Cherokee County on Saturday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

According to an OHP report, Kyle W. Kelley, 31, was walking near the center line of a county road 4 miles south of Tahlequah about 10:20 a.m.

Kelley was hit by a vehicle driven by David Rittenhouse, 66, also of Park Hill, OHP says.

Kelley was admitted to a Tulsa hospital with head and trunk internal injuries, but his condition is unknown.

Rittenhouse’s condition was apparently normal, and the cause of the crash was pedestrian action, according to the trooper’s report.
