Time is running out to stop Richard Glossip's execution. It is set for Wednesday, September 16. Governor Fallin is not wavering in her decision not to grant a stay, but now Glossip's defense team says it has new evidence.

Richard Glossip has had two trials, two juries, and one verdict.

Glossip has been convicted two times in the death of Barry Van Treese, but his attorney says there are new facts that need to be heard.

“The only thing that ties Richard Glossip to this case are the words of Justin Sneed,” said Glossip’s attorney Don Knight.

Sneed was the maintenance man at the Best Budget Inn where Barry Van Treese was killed.

“Just the fact that we are talking about the facts of this case, who to believe. Do you believe Sneed? Do you believe the other evidence?” Knight said.

A jury believed the other evidence because Glossip's attorneys say new evidence they uncovered was never presented until now, and the first red flag in the case is how police interrogated Sneed.

“They led Justin Sneed to where they wanted him to be which was to tell them that somehow or another Richard Glossip was involved,” Knight said. “I think there are a lot of lazy police officers out there honestly, just lazy police officers. People who think that they already got it. They know. They’ve been doing it for thirty years.”

According to Knight, authorities never talked to a key witness, Richard Barrett, Sneed's drug dealer. They claim Sneed would break into cars and hotel rooms to support his meth habit and Barry Van Treese caught him.

“That’s what he was doing that night, and he had a baseball bat in his hand, and he beat Barry Van Treese to death, because Barry caught him, and he admitted that to the police.”

Justin Sneed is serving life in prison. Glossip is set to die Wednesday afternoon. His legal team is planning a press conference Monday at the Capitol.
