McIntosh County Woman Accused Of Taking Hostage After Wreck

A McIntosh County woman is in jail, accused of pointing a gun at two girls and taking one of the girls hostage. 

The McIntosh County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Amy Park. 

The father of one of the victims told News On 6 that Park followed the girls home after they ran into a flower bed because of a power steering failure.

Sheriff Kevin Ledbetter said Park confronted the girls at the home and stole the car she had been following, forcing one of the girls to go with her after the other girl escaped. 

Later, that girl was also able to get away. 

Deputies said bystanders held Park for them when she returned to the home to get her own car.
