TULSA, Oklahoma -

Dozens of fans lined up Tuesday to see the twenty one pilots concert at the Brady Theater, including some who spent the night on the sidewalk.

Paige Fredericks, Destiny Pricer and Kaitlin Mitchell said they got in line at 8:30 Monday night. There were already two people in line when they arrived and the group grew to 14 people who slept on the sidewalk to guarantee themselves dibs on the best seats for the show Tuesday night.

The young women said they believe the band is responsible for the general admission seating policy, because they said the band likes to interact with its fans.

Pricer said the line really started to grow at about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. There appeared to be about 200 people in line at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

Fredericks, a Tulsa native who attends college in Arkansas, said she's taking a day off from classes to see the concert because it's her birthday. She and Pricer said it's worth the effort to see live music.

"I would do this for any band I'm mildly interested in," she said. "It's great to be with other people who feel the way you do."

Their friend, 15-year-old Kaitlin Mitchell, talked her mom into coming with them as a chaperone. Lisa Mitchell, 50, said she rented a hotel room nearby as a safety valve in case they had second thoughts during the night. They used it only for bathroom breaks.

"Not even ever," she said, when asked if she'd ever done anything like this before. "The things we do for our kids," she laughed.

She said the group of 14 diehard fans played games, played a ukulele and entertained each other before settling down to get some sleep.

The young fans said they've loved the band for about a year and a half. Lisa Mitchell said she's been a fan for about three weeks. She said the campout has been a positive experience overall, with a few moments of doubt.

"At about 10 o'clock this morning I was seriously rethinking my life choices."
