The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has identified a woman who was reportedly shot and killed by a hitchhiker near Canton, Oklahoma, early Wednesday morning.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has identified a woman who was reportedly shot and killed by a hitchhiker near Canton, Oklahoma, early Wednesday morning.

According to the OSBI, at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, a male driver and his female passenger, later identified as 18-year-old Caylee Massey, picked up a hitchhiker in Oklahoma City. When they were about two miles east of Canton, the driver said the hitchhiker shot and killed Massey.

The driver told police that the hitchhiker then got out of the car and fled the scene.

OSBI agents identified 23-year-old Christopher Blake Scruggs as a person of interest in this case. He is also wanted for questioning in a violent attack in Logan County.
